Beyond the Likes: A Content Creator’s Path to PR Adventure

It was an ordinary morning in 2017 when I woke up and checked my social media platform. I noticed a “100+” red-colored notification on my phone. To my surprise and shock, I discovered that my blog post titled “My Life as a High Schooler in California” had received over 1,000 likes and 50 comments.

That moment marked the beginning of my journey as a content creator.

Starting at the age of 15, I began sharing my story through various mediums. From documenting my experience studying abroad to talking about teaching languages, promoting body positivity and focusing on self-improvement, I not only felt empowered to express my voice but also found fulfillment in resonating with others’ stories, making them feel heard.

During my time as a content creator, I witnessed the profound impact of storytelling. This experience inspired me to pursue a major in public relations when I started college at Boston University.

Initially apprehensive about the tech industry due to my limited knowledge, I landed a social media internship at an e-learning platform during my sophomore summer. This opportunity, unexpected at the time, gradually demystified the tech world for me. I grew excited about being exposed to cutting-edge technologies like AI and sharing untold stories within the tech space.

Fast-forward to the moment after my second-round interview with Hoffman.

I was at Disneyland, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement for what the future might hold. It was a surreal moment when, amidst the anticipation, I received the “Welcome to Hoffman” email from Tori Quinn while waiting in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It truly felt like a dream come true (especially in Disneyland).

What excites me most about joining Hoffman this summer is the opportunity to experience true agency life and collaborate with a diverse range of clients in the tech industry. I’m also looking forward to the hybrid office setup, which will allow me to connect with my colleagues face-to-face and build stronger relationships.

As I transition from college to post-grad life, I expect some adjustments and stepping out of my comfort zones. However, being in the vibrant atmosphere of the Boston office and interacting with my coworkers in person have already made me feel more at ease about the journey ahead.

It’s been an exhilarating journey from sharing my high school experience to stepping into the tech world and now embracing agency life at Hoffman.

I look forward to continuing to grow, learn and contribute in this exciting new chapter of my career!
