I have a full-time job working at an agency? At THE HOFFMAN AGENCY? Somebody pinch me! I cannot even begin to express my excitement about continuing my career at Hoffman as an associate account executive. When I started at Hoffman, I was a nervous intern, not knowing what to expect.
I got stuck on the saying, “leap and the net will appear.” And well, the net has appeared!
From my first day walking into the Boston office until now, every day has been my favorite. Being surrounded by a supportive and welcoming team has taught me one thing: The corporate world CAN be fun! My favorite saying so far is “it’s nice to see that people aren’t just work robots.” From a team outing to the Red Sox game to chatting about our favorite fall drinks, Hoffman has truly taught me what a corporate culture should feel like.
My internship at Hoffman has been a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain practical experience in the field of B2B tech PR. The importance of strategic storytelling in the B2B tech space is not just about selling products or services; it’s about telling compelling stories that resonate with target audiences.
One of my most memorable projects during my internship was my involvement in the Business of Semiconductor Summit 2024 with The Ojo-Yoshida Report. This project allowed me to delve deeper into the tech industry, particularly the semiconductor sector. I gained a better understanding of the industry’s challenges, opportunities and the critical role it plays in global economies, all while connecting creativity with teamwork. I’m no expert on semiconductors, but I can say I know a lot more about them than I did before!
The more I learned, the more I realized how much I didn’t know. It’s a humbling experience, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.
One of the most valuable pieces of advice I received during my first three months at The Hoffman Agency was to never hesitate to ask for help or feedback. As a new intern, it’s important to recognize that there’s always more to learn. I mean, when you’re surrounded by industry professionals, why wouldn’t you ask for help!
If I were to give advice to others looking to kick-start their career in tech PR, I’d tell them this: The tech industry moves at a rapid pace. Stay curious, keep learning and stay updated on the latest trends, technologies and industry news. The digital age has opened up countless opportunities for innovation and growth in the PR industry, so take advantage of it!
