B2B Technology Media Relations, Content Marketing, and Editorial
Following a few client wins at the end of 2024, we’re on the hunt for an enthusiastic, curious, smart-thinking Account Director to drive further success across a portfolio of accounts within the growing UK team.
We have a varied and exciting roster of B2B technology clients, working across technologies including AI, blockchain, networking, SaaS, cleantech, video surveillance, logistics and monitoring, quantum computing and semiconductors – to name a few.
Many of these are international – in the UK, over 50% of our clients have an international remit, and you’ll be leading such accounts under your role.
Equally, accounts are varied, with some pure-earned media clients alongside editorial / content and integrated programmes.

Diving into the details: Job Description
Strategic thinking, commercially minded and creative, you push for the best quality work that meets and exceeds client expectations – all the while playing a key role in ensuring profitability across the business.
You’ll inspire teams to deliver fantastic results with a laser focus on how these results play into the wider KPIs.
You’ll be exposed to a wide array of disciplines and activities. We’re looking for someone with a lot of ambition, proactivity and adaptability. Curiosity is essential!
Key elements of the role include:
Best-in-breed client relationships
Build a strategic relationship with clients, providing insight and partnership across all campaigns.
Deliver added-value consultancy and strategic thinking in all communications and work closely with clients to deliver successful campaigns.
With your ongoing knowledge of industry trends, position yourself as an industry expert to clients.
Think smartly
Be creative with how to get the most out of varying assets/ content/ announcements - what are the different types of media opportunities that can be pitched for? How can we switch things up for a pitch/angle that is not landing?
Carefully consider new growth opportunities for your accounts, based on your knowledge of clients’ issues/ plans outside of day-to-day account activity.
Use your little black book
Support with media relations, using your long-standing relationships, for key news/campaigns. Use your expert story-telling abilities to build unique narratives for press.
Share detailed knowledge of the media landscape with team members and encourage them to become media experts.
Financial acumen
Support senior client lead on budgeting, defining KPIs, and scopes of work and ensuring profitability – learning to do so yourself in due course. With growing commercial awareness, monitor servicing levels and report back accordingly.
Understand the impact of client revenues on the business. Ensure profitability on all accounts and effectively manage budgets.
New business and marketing
Play a leading role in the new business process, project managing pitch teams and delivering credible solutions to new business challenges. In pitches, confidently position yourself as an industry expert.
Teams and development
Act as a responsible line manager to junior team members, working closely with line reports to maximize strengths and support career development.
Run and support training sessions within the wider training calendar.
Build visibility
Be an active ambassador for Hoffman through social media engagement, commenting and sharing company posts, and engaging with influential third parties. Use networks to share appropriate posts and blogs from target prospects, clients, and influencers.

Strong organisational and planning skills are a must, and you should have proven ability to build strong relationships with journalists, colleagues and clients.
You will have a passion for media relations and content creation given the mix of campaigns we run.

The Office
This role is hybrid, with two days in the office and three working from home. We all gather in the office every Wednesday, so we can do our 1:1s, training, meetings and brainstorms face-to-face (it also means that we can nip out for lunches together or a quick drink after work).
